The First Cut Is The Deepest
Well my little visit to the surgeon is over and while I do feel a bit like the guy to the right I think that along with an appropriate dosage of the odd T2 I'll survive.
Overall a fairly good experience at Eagle Ridge Hospital -- managed to escape (I hope) without contracting the Norwalk virus)
and have yet had to watch Cops & Robertsons (sic) during my recovery.
However, there was a minor issue that arose when the admitting nurse took my blood pressure as part of the pre-anaesthetic ritual and surprise surprise -- it was HIGH! Well duh, I was a little anxious b/c I was going into surgery! Wouldn't it make sense for these people to take a baseline measure several days prior (say for example when I was seeing the surgeon three weeks prior to surgery or even when I went for a blood test four days ago). Other than that and a surgeon who seems to be modelling his availability after a title character from H. G. Well's novel from 1897 I guess I can't really complain.

Glad to hear you are okay, but you can't expect medical professionals to understand what a control is, can you?
glad to hear you're on the mend, and I'd reccomend 'the bad news bears' while dosing on your meds.
